My Approach

I believe that no single psychotherapeutic approach is enough to address the individual needs of the client and therefore I integrate different therapeutic techniques as listed later on in this page.

We can all experience stages in our life that can feel overwhelming and difficult, usually during times of crisis. Counselling can provide a safe and regular space for you to talk in a confidential setting and explore issues that may be causing distress. Together we can work to help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes, as well as identifying ways of finding alternative solutions to the problems.

I have always worked with a mixed range of clients and, in particular, adolescents who present with behavioural issues such as non-attendance, lack of anger management skills, low self-esteem, abuse, relationship issues, self-harm (including alcohol, food and drug related), family separation and bereavement.  My work has required me to liaise with pastoral care and student services in educational settings and where appropriate outside agencies such as Social Services (CAMHS), GP’s, parents and police.

Whilst having a broad based experience, I specialise in supporting adolescents with Emotional Wellbeing difficulties such as behavioural issues, non-attendance. As a Therapuetic Counsellor I value an integrative approach working flexibly and creatively with the counselling relationship to achieve a holistic outcome for the client.
